Do you love yogurt? It’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan since it’s an easy way to add protein, calcium, and Vitamin D to any meal or snack. It’s not just for breakfast, I’ve got lots of Simple Tips to Fit Yogurt into Every Diet.
Why include yogurt in your meal plan?
Light & Fit Yogurt can fit into a variety of diet patterns and choices – along with following the Dietary Guidelines recommendations, yogurt can be part of healthy lifestyle choices including Mediterranean-style, Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH), vegetarian, and low-carbohydrate diets.
In fact, the 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommend increasing intake of nutrient-dense foods, such as fat-free or low-fat dairy products, like yogurt. Yogurt is nutrient dense, and many yogurts are a good source of protein, calcium and vitamin D. Greek yogurts typically contain more protein than regular yogurts. That’s why it’s a fantastic choice to help you refuel after a workout.

I love yogurt over pancakes – one of my fav local breakfast joints has a Yogurt Parfait Pancake dish where they use yogurt, fresh fruit and granola as a topping for pancakes instead of butter and maple syrup – so yum!
That’s my kind of breakfast joint 😋😋😋
So many great ideas! I typically use plain Greek yogurt, in both sweet and savory recipes. Yesterday I had a Greek yogurt parfait with blueberries, pecan, and hemp seeds. Today I mixed it with mayo for a lighter chicken salad dressing, and I also put it on top of my lunch burrito bowl. I’m heading over to check out your frozen mocha bark recipe right now-that sounds so good!
Awesome ideas, EA!! 🙂
